Piercing Materials 101

Why Material Matters?

Your body is literally healing around a foreign object so what that object’s made
of seriously matters.

The wrong material can cause irritation, bumps, allergic reactions, or drag out the healing process. The right material? Helps a piercing heal smoother, feel better,
and looks beautiful from day one.

At The Piercery, we don’t mess around with materials. Every single piece we pierce with meets medical-grade standards. No mystery metals. No flaking coatings.
No “I got this online” regrets.

Safe Materials for Fresh Piercings

At The Piercery, we only pierce with the good stuff – no mystery metals, no shortcuts.

Implant-Grade Titanium (ASTM F-136)

Lightweight, hypoallergenic, and seriously safe. It’s what they use in surgical implants.

14k Solid Gold

Nickel-free, tarnish-free, and pure luxury. Beautiful and body-safe.

High-Quality Surgical Steel (ASTM F-138)

Polished to perfection and safe for most. We only use certified steel that meets international safety standards.
Every piece we use is chosen because it works with your body – not against it. Your healing deserves the best.

Materials to Avoid
(Especially for a New Body Piercing)

Not all piercing-jewellery is created equal. For fresh piercings, steer clear of:

Incompatible Alloys

Alloys like nickel and brass can cause irritation and discolouration. We don’t use any of those!

Sterling Silver

Looks pretty, but oxidises easily and can lead to discolouration or infection.

Plastic/Acrylic

Cheap for a reason. Porous, breakable, and a bacteria magnet.

If you don’t know exactly what it’s made of, don’t wear it in a healing piercing. Ever.
